The work behind the placement
talled searches restarted. Founding teams built from scratch. Critical roles filled in weeks, not months. These are real engagements with energy businesses across APAC and Europe, and what it actually took to get them right.
Senior Sales Manager & Sales Engineer
Shoals Technologies Group was building their founding commercial team in Australia, a make-or-break milestone for their APAC growth strategy. A previous agency had been unable to deliver, and with a US leadership team watching closely, the standard for speed and quality was non-negotiable.
The brief required more than sourcing. Senior candidates in this sector don't apply for jobs, they need a reason to move. Positioning the opportunity compellingly to passive talent was going to define whether the search succeeded or stalled again.
The engagement started with a proper role scoping consultation, not a job order form, but a genuine conversation about what the founding team needed to look like and why. That foundation mattered, because it gave the team the language to go to market with conviction.
An existing relationship between Enemix's team and Shoals' incoming Managing Director accelerated trust from day one. Weekly alignment calls with the US leadership kept the process tight. Enemix managed the full candidate journey, from identification through to offer, with full transparency at every stage.
The quality of the process laid the groundwork for an ongoing partnership, with further roles already confirmed as Shoals continues its APAC expansion.
Tala brought a structured and highly professional approach, quickly building a strong pool of qualified candidates and preparing them thoroughly before presenting them to us. Her understanding of both the technical and commercial requirements of the roles ensured that the shortlist aligned closely with our expectations from the outset. Her ability to manage each stage efficiently, while maintaining a high bar for capability and cultural fit, materially improved the quality and speed of our first hires. The overall experience was very positive and added real value during a critical phase of our market extension.
Regional Lead, Queensland
Grid-Link were ready to expand interstate and needed a senior Regional Lead for Queensland. The problem: the role had already been live with multiple agencies simultaneously. Outreach fatigue had set in. A lack of compelling employer narrative was causing candidates to disengage. When other agencies gave up, the position remained unfilled.
Rather than repeating what hadn't worked, Enemix stepped back. Together with Grid-Link, the team diagnosed why the search had stalled and agreed on a different path, including a full reset of the outreach strategy and a formal return to market.
The reset centred on building an Employee Value Proposition for the role: a clear, differentiated message about what Grid-Link stood for, where it was heading, and what this position would mean for the right person's career. Only then did the search relaunch. The resulting shortlist included eight profiles, with six progressing to interview and three reaching a standard where Grid-Link would have comfortably extended an offer.
The successful candidate had already been approached and passed. Through Enemix's knowledge of Grid-Link's business and the newly developed EVP, that same individual was re-engaged and appointed. A result that only came from repositioning the opportunity, not sourcing harder.
Ben demonstrated a high level of diligence, professionalism, and responsiveness throughout the process. He took the time to clearly understand our requirements and worked patiently and persistently with multiple stakeholders, both within Grid-Link and externally, until a suitable candidate was successfully appointed. We were very satisfied with the quality of service and the outcome achieved. Based on our experience, we would confidently recommend Ben for complex, strategic, as well as business-as-usual recruitment assignments.
Construction Manager, Transmission
ACCIONA had a resourcing gap at the Construction Manager level in their transmission business, a role that had been vacant for several months. The 500kV sector is characterised by a severe shortage of qualified candidates, with major project owners and contractors all competing for the same small pool of people.
Urgency escalated quickly. A follow-up conversation one week after the initial discussion confirmed the requirement had become critical. There was no room for a slow process.
Enemix moved immediately. Candidate profiles were submitted the morning after urgency was confirmed. A discussion with the Project Manager was arranged that same afternoon. Three profiles, three interviews the following week, a structured two-stage process, and an offer made following the first interview stage.
Speed was not achieved by cutting corners. It was achieved through an active, current network in a niche sector and a disciplined process that kept momentum without compromising on the calibre of the hire.
ACCIONA closed a resourcing gap that had been open for months, and did so without lowering the bar.
From the outset, Amy demonstrated a strong understanding of the transmission line construction sector and quickly grasped our specific resourcing needs. Within days of our initial discussion, she had already sourced and arranged interviews with multiple high-quality candidates. What stood out most was her efficiency and execution, there was no lag, no unnecessary back-and-forth, just clear, direct communication and consistent follow-up. This level of turnaround in our industry is not easy to achieve, and it reflects both Amy's network and her ability to deliver under pressure. A genuinely outstanding experience.
Energy Market Analysts, Data Scientists & Account Executives
Modo Energy, a leading energy data innovator, was entering the Australian market and needed to build a local team from the ground up, quickly and credibly. The people hired in year one would define Modo's early reputation and commercial capability in a new geography.
The complexity extended beyond recruitment. Modo were simultaneously navigating legal entity setup, regulatory environment, and decisions about where to base their Australian operation. They needed a partner who could hold multiple threads at once.
Enemix partnered with Modo throughout their first year in Australia, providing both hands-on recruitment support and strategic advisory. On the hiring side, Enemix placed Energy Market Analysts, Data Scientists and Account Executives, the technical and commercial foundation Modo needed to launch.
Beyond recruitment, Enemix provided counsel on legal entity setup, office location planning and wider market-entry considerations, drawing on direct experience supporting energy businesses entering Australia to help Modo move efficiently and avoid common pitfalls.
Modo Energy established a strong, capable Australian team within their first year. The breadth of Enemix's involvement meant Modo could focus entirely on what they do best, with a trusted local partner managing the complexity around them.
Enemix played a critical role in building our team from the ground up as part of our strategy to establish a strong presence in the Australian energy market. Since our move to Australia, Enemix has helped scale the business by placing key roles including Energy Account Managers, Energy Analysts, and Data Scientists. Beyond recruitment, Enemix also provided strategic advisory on legal entity setup, office location planning, and broader market-entry considerations. I highly recommend working with Enemix.
National Manager & Senior Power Systems Engineer
Partum Engineering's existing agency had been working across their Transmission and Distribution business with limited results. The unfilled positions were symptomatic of a deeper issue: the agency lacked the specialist depth to credibly compete for candidates in a highly technical, relationship-driven sector.
When Partum's Executive General Manager began considering the creation of a brand-new Power Systems Engineering function, a genuinely strategic initiative, he recognised that building it right required a different kind of recruitment partner.
Enemix's engagement with Partum was built on process discipline and genuine curiosity. Work began with a detailed job brief, followed by weekly touchpoints that went well beyond a standard status update. These sessions were used to understand not just what Partum needed, but why, the strategic intent behind the Power Systems function, the team chemistry required, and the long-term trajectory of the business.
Transparent, real-time candidate feedback meant the team could continuously refine their understanding of fit, for both capability and culture, and carry those lessons into each successive stage of the search.
The placement gave Partum the leadership and technical foundation to launch their new Power Systems function. As confidence in Enemix's understanding of the business grew, the partnership extended to supporting the broader Engineering team's expansion across the business.
Enemix found excellent candidates in the market that suit our requirements, and have maintained excellent communication with both the candidate and employer throughout the recruitment process. Their understanding of what we were building, and why, made a real difference to the quality of the shortlists we saw.
