Commissioning Manager Rolle in Melbourne

Enemix are working very closely with a leading battery energy storage (BESS) organisation here in Australia who are very successfully growing their battery portfolio across Australia. This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly experienced commissioning expert to take lead on grid connected projects across Australia.

About the role

Due to growth/expansion within the Australian renewable energy sector, the client we are supporting need an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead complex BESS projects end-to-end in Australia. This is a senior leadership role in which you will own commissioning strategy, documentation and on-site execution, from grid compliance testing through to handover and early operations support.

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution across full EPC & commissioning scope for large-scale BESS projects
• Own commissioning strategy, documentation, and on-site execution across all disciplines
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with internal engineering, subcontractors, and external stakeholders including AEMO and network service providers
• Drive grid compliance testing and system performance validation in line with Australian standards and project specifications
• Oversee commissioning documentation, non-conformity reporting, and handover deliverables
• Ensure safe, high-quality delivery through to project handover and provide early operations support

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 5+ years experience in BESS (or power systems) commissioning
• Strong background in EPC project environments with end-to-end commissioning accountability
• Engineering qualification (electrical, electronic, or related discipline)
• Strong ability to read electrical drawings and use test instruments
• Familiarity with AEMO processes, grid connection requirements, and Australian standards
• Strong leadership and stakeholder communication skills
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
