Overview

Enemix is partnering with a fast-growing energy software business that helps asset owners get more out of their trading through an automated platform.

This is a new role, created as the client base grows. You'll work directly with the founding leadership team and become the go-to trading expert for clients. You'll help them set up and refine their strategies, and your market knowledge will feed straight into how the product develops.

It's a small, close-knit team that is hiring ahead of demand. That means real influence, real ownership and the chance to shape a product from the inside, with share options included in the package. They value real flexibility, working with interstate teams so can be flexible for the right candidate, but are ideally seeking candidates based in Sydney. or Adelaide.

Key Responsibilities

Markets and trading performance

• Monitor NEM energy and FCAS prices, dispatch outcomes and what drives them, and form a clear view on what they mean for bidding behaviour
• Analyse trading and dispatch performance, spot missed opportunities and quantify their causes using in-house market data and analytics tools
• Test, refine and recommend improvements to automated bidding and dispatch strategies in line with each client's risk appetite
• Review high price events and periods of volatility, and turn the findings into development priorities and client insights

Product

• Shape the trading product roadmap: define requirements, work closely with the technology team, and test new releases against real market behaviour
• Bring a trader's perspective to product decisions, making sure the platform reflects how trading decisions are actually made

Clients and industry

• Act as the trading subject matter expert in client and prospect meetings, turning performance results into a clear commercial story
• Support clients through onboarding, strategy setup, risk management and bidding compliance
• Hold regular client reviews covering asset performance and market insights
• Build relationships across the NEM trading community and represent the business at industry events

Key Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in the NEM, ideally within a trading team
• Hands-on spot and/or derivatives trading experience, gained on a spot desk, as an energy trading analyst, or through trading optimisation roles
• A strong grasp of day-to-day asset trading decisions
• The ability to explain complex market and trading concepts clearly to clients
• A hands-on style and a willingness to get into the detail
• Enjoyment of a scaling start-up environment
• Python experience is a bonus but not essential
• An interest in product management is also a plus
