Senior Energy Markets Consultant (PPA) Rolle in Melbourne, VIC

About the Role

We’re seeking an Senior Energy Markets Consultant (PPA & Offtakes) to join a growing Energy Advisory team that supports clients across the renewable energy and electricity market landscape. In this role, you will help organisations navigate wholesale energy transactions, revenue strategies, and market participation decisions in a rapidly evolving sector.

This is a highly client‑facing position where you will advise on PPA structuring, offtake strategies, hedging approaches, and revenue optimisation for both generation and storage assets. You will work with a diverse client base - including Australia first projects in renwable energy developerment -  with strong autonomy and direct commercial influence.

The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of electricity markets, wholesale transaction structuring, and commercial negotiation, along with practical understanding of AEMO frameworks and regulatory requirements. This role suits someone who enjoys tackling complex commercial questions and transforming technical market insights into clear strategic guidance.

About You

You are a commercially focused energy professional with proven capability in wholesale markets, transaction structuring, or commercial advisory. You communicate complex market dynamics in a practical, accessible manner and build credibility quickly with senior stakeholders.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Significant experience in electricity markets with exposure to wholesale transactions, trading, origination, or commercial advisory
• Demonstrated ability to structure or advise on PPAs, offtake agreements, or wholesale energy contracts
• Commercial modelling capability and experience in transaction financial analysis
• Knowledge of renewable generation and BESS revenue models and market participation pathways
• Strong client management skills with the ability to influence senior decision‑makers
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non‑technical audiences
