Energy Markets Manager (Plexos and Commercial Analytics)

This position will lead the Energy Market Modelling team in a bid to grow their Energy markets Capability.

Responsibilities
• As an Electricity Market Modelling Manager, you will join our Energy Markets modelling team to develop electricity spot projections based on plausible supply-demand scenarios and mimic the bidding behaviour observed across various market participants.
• Your experience with the Plexos® market simulation software and Python coding skills will be crucial in this role.
• You will support renewable energy developers by leveraging our quantitative risk analytics to assess a range of hedging strategies, develop shaped renewable energy products, and optimize renewable energy and storage investments. Your expertise will help drive informed decision-making and strategic planning in the evolving energy market landscape.
• You will also develop and implement approaches to the management of energy market risks for large commercial and industrial customers. You will work closely on the design and modelling of energy contract and hedging structures and interact with clients to implement long-term risk management strategies tailored to their specific risk appetite and operational capabilities, incorporating the team’s forward-looking view on energy market conditions.
• You will manage client relationships and, as a project manager, oversee the delivery of client work, coordinate the work of team members, manage project budgets, and ensure we support our clients to reach their clean energy goals.

What do I need to be successful in this role?
• 5 years’ experience in electricity market modelling/Energy Analytical Position with a Commercial Background.
• Demonstrated quantitative skillset, working with or managing advanced risk analytics.
• Proven advanced experience with Plexos® as well as MS Excel and Python programming skills.
• Project management experience: managing quality, budget, timelines, and project risks to the satisfaction of the clients while meeting internal project performance targets.
