Enemix have partnered with an international energy solutions company, who are growing and developing their Trading and Markets team. The wider company offer a range of services, focussing on investments in renewable energy assets and new energy technology, supply of energy and demand and portfolio management solutions. The company are steadily growing their Australian presence and are going from strength to strength, so are now seeking a talented Market Analyst or Trader to join their growing team.


Given the technologies and services they offer, they are looking for Energy Market Analysts or Data Scientists with a quantitative background to join the Sydney team. It is crucial that you have a desire to grow and learn, be a part of a rapidly growing company, and have an appetite to work in a high performing team with the opportunity to develop your trading skillset.

The Role

As a Market Analyst, you will bring your Energy and Electricity sector expertise to produce innovative, industry-standard research and analysis, supporting the team and the broader energy market sector. You will collaborate with research, data, modelling, and product teams to plan and develop data analytics products that will transform workflows across the power industry.

Responsibilities

- Provide model-based analysis of the National Electricity Market (NEM) and the ASX Energy Futures market contributing to desk trading strategy.
- You will also be required to develop reports and dashboards to support succinct but accurate reporting of the team’s modelling output and market views.
- Create complex and creative data modelling of AEMO MMS and other fundamental energy market data sets.
- Developing forecasting models focused on energy supply and demand factors.
- Utilising and developing optimisation modelling to provide scenario analysis of future outcomes for energy resources.
- Reporting and dashboards to summarise and showcase the team’s work in modelling output and market views.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure alignment and deliver significant value to our users through all our product, content, and customer-facing efforts.

Qualifications

- 3-10 years of professional experience in energy markets, data science, or economics
- Experience conducting complex data analysis in Python and R.
- Deep understanding of the NEM and power trading.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills are essential.
- The ability to discover, explore, visualize, and communicate trends and patterns in numerical data to provide value to clients and wider team.
