Enemix are working exclusively with an award winning energy solutions OEM business within the Power Conversion Systems space, as you the Senior Grid Modelling Engineer you will be providing GPS support to large scale renewable energy customers using BESS inverters (grid forming).

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and review models using tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Digsilent PowerFactory, Simulink, Matlab, and programming languages like Python.
Conduct comprehensive power system studies, including generator performance standard studies, transient stability, fault analysis, load flow, and protection design.
Assess power quality issues and ensure compliance with Australian and international safety and electrical standards.
Lead technical aspects of modelling, analysis, and design of Power Converter Systems (inverter-based generation).
Provide expert technical advisory and engineering services for grid-connected and off-grid power generation systems.
Deliver high-quality technical reports and documentation.
Foster client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
Collaborate in cross-functional teams to provide technical due diligence support for transactions.

Areas of Focus:

•Steady state analysis (load flow and fault level studies)
•Dynamic analysis (frequency and voltage stability studies)
•Harmonic analysis (power quality and filter design studies)
•Grid code compliance reviews for generators, energy storage systems, and loads
•Wide area power systems studies
•Protection coordination studies
•RMS and EMT Modelling for power system studies
•Mathematical modelling and simulations of power plant controls
•Participation in deliverable lists for PLC and HMI

Qualifications:

•Minimum of 5 years of experience in grid modelling and working with distributed energy resources projects within the National Electricity Grid and industrial settings.
•Proven application of engineering practices in the power industry and large engineering organisations.
•Demonstrated experience in delivering large grid-connected power initiatives on time and within budget.
•Strong understanding of power system studies, including generator performance standard studies, transient stability, fault analysis, load flow, protection design, and power quality assessment.
•In-depth knowledge of control systems in high-power conversion systems.
