About the Role

A leading energy company is seeking a Trading Manager to lead short-term revenue optimisation for its battery energy storage assets in Australia. The role also supports trading activities across the APAC region. You will be responsible for maximising net revenue within operational and financial constraints, collaborating with external optimisation partners and internal stakeholders to refine bidding strategies and evaluate future trading platforms.

This position also involves high-level communication of asset performance, including board-level reporting and market commentary to keep the team informed of key developments.

Key Responsibilities
- Maximise short-term revenue from operational battery assets
- Develop and execute trading strategies with external trading partners
- Monitor and manage trading operations in real time
- Ensure compliance with the National Electricity Rules (NER) and other relevant legislation
- Provide regular performance reporting to project stakeholders and internal leadership
- Interpret revenue contract structures and integrate them into trading operations
- Report on market conditions relevant to existing and future assets
- Contribute to the structuring and optimisation of the broader asset portfolio

About you:

Essential:
- Degree in engineering, commerce, data science, or a related quantitative field
- Experience in spot trading within the National Electricity Market (NEM)
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and coding experience (e.g., Python, R)
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present to senior stakeholders
- Experience with bidding battery energy storage systems in the NEM
