Our client is a dynamic engineering consultancy at the forefront of integrating energy assets into the grid. With a strong commitment to excellence, they deliver end-to-end solutions for designing, building, commissioning, and operating energy projects in a competitive commercial landscape.
They are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to lead the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary design projects across high-voltage substations, utility-scale renewable energy developments (solar, wind, BESS), and associated infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Oversee full-cycle design delivery from concept to IFC documentation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary contact for clients, utilities, OEMs, and internal teams.
- Technical Oversight: Provide guidance to design teams and ensure compliance with Australian standards.
- Commercial Management: Manage budgets, reporting, and contractual obligations.
- Team Development: Mentor engineers and support recruitment aligned with project needs.
- HSEQ Compliance: Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
About You
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 10+ years in electrical design, with 3+ years in a senior/design management role.
- Proven experience in large-scale substation and renewable energy projects in Australia.
- Strong knowledge of grid connection processes and utility standards.
Desirable:
-RPEQ / RPEV / CPEng registration (or working toward it).
-Experience with major utilities like Powerlink or AusNet.
