Overview

-Enemix are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior/Principal Power Systems -Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. This role is integral to supporting the development, testing, and optimization of power systems for various energy projects. If you are skilled in software tools like PSSE, PSCAD, and PowerFactory, and have expertise in testing and commissioning as well as SCADA and controls, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

As the Senior/Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will:

-Conduct power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, stability, and protection analyses, using tools like PSSE, PSCAD, and PowerFactory.
-Lead the design, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of power systems and associated equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
-Develop, implement, and validate SCADA and control strategies for managing power system operations.
-Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering an environment of professional growth and knowledge sharing.
-Collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally to deliver technical solutions that meet project goals and timelines.
-Conduct site visits to oversee testing, commissioning, and performance evaluations of installed systems.
-Document all work performed, including generating technical reports, testing protocols, and commissioning guidelines.
-Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, best practices, and new technologies in power systems engineering.

Qualifications Required:

-Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
-Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in power systems engineering, including studies and field experience.
-Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, and PowerFactory.
-Proven experience in testing and commissioning of electrical systems in utility, industrial, or renewable energy projects.
-Strong understanding of SCADA and control systems, with hands-on implementation experience.
-Excellent problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
-Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.

Preferred and Nice-to-Have:

-Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
-Familiarity with renewable energy systems like solar, wind, or battery energy storage.
-Experience with protection system coordination and grid interconnection studies.

Day-to-Day

On a typical day, you will:

-Analyze and model power systems using PSSE, PSCAD, or PowerFactory to evaluate performance, stability, and efficiency.
-Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams during project planning, execution, and reviews.
-Conduct on-site commissioning activities, ensuring that SCADA and control systems meet operational specifications.
-Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
-Mentor junior engineers by reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback.
-Attend technical meetings or update sessions with project teams and leadership.
-Document test results, write reports, and update project statuses to ensure clear communication across teams.
