Responsibilities

-Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert in transmission, substation, primary design, and HV design projects.
-Provide mentorship and guidance to a diverse team of engineers, fostering professional growth and excellence.
-Oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of utility engineering projects, ensuring that all deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
-Collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, and external contractors to successfully manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
-Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and progress check-ins to ensure milestones are met.
-Contribute to the development of innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective design solutions in the energy and utility space.
-Provide technical and strategic input during bidding phases and customer presentations to promote team capabilities.
-Demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive and supportive team culture by embracing diverse perspectives.

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
-Proven experience (10+ years) in primary design, HV design, transmission, or substation projects in the utility industry.
-Demonstrated experience as a team lead, supervisor, or manager in a diverse and collaborative environment.
-Strong understanding of electrical utility standards, codes, and best practices.
-Ability to analyze complex systems and deliver high-quality technical designs.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

-Master’s degree in a related engineering field is a plus.
-Advanced knowledge of design software tools such as AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, or ETAP.
-Proficiency with project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
-Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead diverse teams and engage stakeholders effectively.
-Passionate about fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within teams and processes.

Additional Requirements:

-Ability to travel occasionally for on-site inspections or client consultations.
