The Opportunity
This role sits within a strategy and transactions team that combines transformative thinking, transaction leadership, tax expertise, and corporate finance capabilities to deliver practical, real-world solutions. As a Senior Manager in the Energy Lead Advisory team, you’ll collaborate with developers, investors, financiers, innovators, and public sector stakeholders to unlock capital and deliver impactful M&A solutions that accelerate Australia’s transition to a sustainable, green future.
You’ll be instrumental in:
-Originating new opportunities and developing client relationships
-Identifying key value drivers and risk mitigation strategies, challenging assumptions around pricing, asset performance, and portfolio construction
-Leading transaction execution across the lifecycle, including financial modelling, diligence, financing, and negotiation
-Delivering seamless, integrated client experiences across service lines throughout the M&A journey
-The team’s focus spans renewable generation, storage, transmission, and optimisation strategies for infrastructure investors, developers, and utilities across both mid-market and major segments.
Note: This role requires candidates to be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop and implement innovative M&A strategies tailored to client objectives and evolving market conditions
-Lead acquisition and disposal engagements for energy projects, portfolios, and businesses, working with developers, infrastructure and private equity investors, financiers, and strategic buyers
-Manage execution across origination, bid strategy, due diligence, valuation, capital structuring, and negotiation
-Advise on regulatory compliance in the energy sector, with a strong understanding of public-private intersections in energy transition projects
-Oversee preparation of investment materials, financial analyses, and models to support client decision-making
-Identify critical issues impacting deal structuring and pricing, with a strong grasp of risk and value
-Effectively manage teams and stakeholder communications
-Contribute to business development initiatives and build strong client relationships
-Leverage global renewables platforms to deliver exceptional insights and transaction expertise
Skills and Attributes for Success
-Proven experience in transaction advisory, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple engagements
-Deep expertise in M&A, project and corporate finance structuring, and a strong understanding of energy market fundamentals, technologies, supply chains, and policy
-Passion for the energy sector and a commitment to decarbonisation
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or Law preferred
-Strong work ethic, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills
-High-quality delivery and presentation skills
-Competence in risk management and quality assurance
