Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and talented Grid Engineer to join a leading developer of BESS projects here in Australia who have a very strong pipeline of exciting projects that are at various lifecycle stages. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about integrating cutting-edge tools and methodologies to solve complex challenges within the energy sector.

Responsibilities

-Lead technical engagements with consultants on GPS and feasibility studies
-Coordinating the R0, R1 and R2 testing processes and liaising with AEMO, NSPs, and key stakeholders
-Reviewing EPC and supplier agreements to mitigate grid-related risks
-Effectively communicate with grid consultants, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), internal management, Network Service Providers and AEMO to progress projects through the grid connection process
-Serve as a subject matter expert on grid connection and other electrical engineering matters, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members and other

Qualifications

-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
-Proven experience with grid modeling software - PSCAD, PSSE, and PowerFactory
-Strong understanding of power systems engineering concepts, including generation, transmission, and distribution networks
-Knowledge of National Electricity Rules and process to connect to the National Electricity Market
-Practical experience in power system engineering, including connection applications and commissioning
-Effective communication skills, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
-A passion for innovative solutions in energy management and grid optimisation
