BESS O&M Service Manager

Enemix are looking for a passionate and driven O&M Service Manager to join a market leader in the Battery Energy Storage sector. This role is crucial to ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will take ownership of asset management, optimize performance and manage long-term service agreements.

Responsibilities:

• Take full responsibility for the execution of Long‑Term Service Agreements (LTSA) / Maintenance and Service Agreements, ensuring strong asset performance across the project lifecycle.
• Attend project sites to supervise work activities, including troubleshooting and corrective maintenance, while ensuring compliance with all workplace health & safety requirements.
• Ensure asset compliance and maintain all relevant records, logs, and documentation. Develop and implement audit programs where needed.
• Lead pre‑contract and tender‑stage activities including scope definition, pricing, risk allocation, LD exposure, and supporting processes.
• Own and manage availability guarantees, performance guarantees, KPIs, and service‑level reporting to deliver contractual compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Lead communication and negotiation during O&M agreement development, coordinating internal teams and subcontractors during delivery and operations.
• Oversee subcontractor strategy, governance, commercial performance, and service standards, including ongoing evaluation and contract management.
• Prepare, review, and maintain O&M documentation such as reports, proposals, contracts, and service records.
• Support implementation, commissioning, and technical workstreams for large‑scale BESS projects, ensuring strong familiarity with operational processes.
• Lead incident and fault management, including RCA, corrective action planning, and timely communication to internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate stakeholders—subcontractors, technical teams, asset owners, system operators, and networks—to resolve technical and operational issues efficiently.
• Manage O&M budgets, protect margins, and drive cost optimisation and variation management throughout operations.
• Continuously enhance O&M processes to improve asset reliability, operational efficiency, and service quality.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, Automation, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in O&M management for energy storage or renewable energy assets, with knowledge of large‑scale BESS operations and asset management.
• Technical capability to interpret system architecture, diagnose issues, and guide onsite troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in O&M documentation, contract administration, and commercial analysis.
• Experience using CMMS tools to track and manage maintenance activities.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work across client, subcontractor, and internal stakeholder groups.
• High sense of ownership and willingness to travel as required.

Background of Experience:

• Hands‑on experience with utility‑scale BESS assets.
• Strong technical understanding of PCS, EMS, BMS, SCADA, and system integration.
• Knowledge of grid‑forming/grid‑following control strategies and grid compliance requirements.
• Experience managing availability guarantees, performance KPIs, and service‑level agreements for OEMs or asset owners.
