Overview
Enemix is seeking skilled Transmission Linespersons to play a critical role in the installation of conductors and associated equipment across transmission structures. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in conductor and stringing operations, who thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
As a Transmission Linesperson in the stringing team, you will be responsible for:
- Executing stringing and conductor operations on overhead transmission lines.
- Climbing and working on transmission towers and poles using industry-approved access methods.
- Installing and maintaining conductors, insulators, fittings, hardware, and other aerial equipment.
- Assisting in tensioning, pulling, clipping-in, running blocks, and spacer installation.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, stringing plans, network diagrams, and work packs.
- Conducting job safety analyses (JSA/JHA), risk assessments, and pre-start checks daily to maintain the safety of all stakeholders on-site.
- Coordinating with supervisors, inspectors, and other key stakeholders for seamless project execution.
- Maintaining comprehensive work-in-progress documentation and ensuring the accuracy of quality records.
- Identifying, resolving, and escalating any site issues, required modifications, or safety observations.
- Strictly adhering to site-specific WHS policies, procedures, and environmental controls at all times.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need
- Proven experience working on overhead transmission line stringing projects (essential).
- Robust knowledge of transmission construction practices, tools, and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely at heights and thrive in high-risk construction environments.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to effectively operate in remote or regional site conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude toward safety.
Licences & Certifications
Ideal candidates will hold:
- Trade Qualification: Cert III ESI – Transmission Overhead or equivalent (preferred).
- Construction White Card.
- High Risk Work Licences (HRWL), including:
- Rigging
- Dogging
- EWP (over 11m)
- Working at Heights
- Tower Rescue Certification.
- A valid HRWL relevant to transmission construction is highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of PSSR / CPR-LVR.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
Day-to-Day Activities
A typical day in this role may involve:
- Conducting pre-start safety checks, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Working collaboratively with your team to execute stringing operations, efficiently and safely.
- Climbing and working on towers at heights to install and maintain vital infrastructure.
- Operating specialized tools and equipment with precision, ensuring quality compliance.
- Communicating with supervisors and stakeholders to address challenges or potential delays.
- Documenting progress and adhering to strict safety protocols per industry guidelines.
