Senior Data Engineer – Energy Markets

Enemix have partnered with one of Australia's leading independent power producers, seeking their next hire to become the pillar of their Data Engineering functions. We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and governance of data systems that power real-time decision-making and operational excellence across a growing suite of energy market applications.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of the team, you’ll:

• Own and maintain core SQL Server databases used in production-critical environments.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable data pipelines for energy market and telemetry data.
• Define and enforce best practices for schema versioning, data lifecycle management, and access patterns.
• Mentor junior team members and champion modern data tooling and governance practices.

What You Bring

• 3+ years in data engineering roles, with hands-on experience in operations-critical environments.
• Background in the energy sector or real-time operations.
• Deep expertise in SQL and Python, with a strong grasp of scalable data architecture.
• Familiarity with containerisation (e.g., Docker) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.).
• A proactive mindset and passion for software and data quality.
