Grid Connections Manager | Renewable Energy Developer & IPP | NSW/QLD/VIC/SA

We're partnering with a global renewable energy developer and IPP that's building out a serious pipeline across wind, solar and battery storage in the Australian market. They invest, develop and operate their own assets, so you'll be seeing projects through from grid connection application to energisation, working for a business that holds the asset long after COD.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading grid connection applications across a pipeline of wind, solar and BESS projects, from initial enquiry through to connection agreement
  • Managing the AEMO and NSP relationship for connection applications, including R0/R1 packages and negotiation of connection offers
  • Overseeing preparation and review of Generator Performance Standards and supporting technical studies
  • Managing external consultants delivering PSSE, PSCAD or PowerFactory modelling work
  • Coordinating Dynamic Model Acceptance Testing and compliance activities through to CIS
  • Working closely with development, engineering and commercial teams to keep grid connection risk visible and managed through project milestones
  • Acting as the internal point of technical authority on grid connections matters for the Australian portfolio

What they are looking for:

  • Strong working knowledge of the NER and the AEMO grid connection process
  • Experience managing connection applications and negotiations with NSPs
  • Familiarity with Generator Performance Standards, GPS negotiation and 534A/B correspondence
  • Comfortable directing and reviewing PSSE, PSCAD or PowerFactory studies, even if not personally modelling day to day
  • Prior experience on renewable generation or BESS connection projects in the NEM
  • Confidence managing consultants, timelines and multiple live connections at once
  • Dynamic and agile individuals, capable of adapting to a fast-paced and changing environment
