Head of PPA Origination | High-Growth Clean Energy Platform | Sydney

A well-capitalised and ambitious clean energy platform is looking for a Head of PPA Origination to lead commercial offtake strategy across a significant and growing portfolio of solar, storage and hybrid assets in Australia and New Zealand.

Backed by a global infrastructure investor with deep experience building and exiting renewable energy platforms across Asia Pacific, this business is entering an exciting phase of growth — with contracted assets already generating revenue, an active development pipeline and an aggressive acquisition agenda.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the PPA function end-to-end. This is a lead-from-the-front position — you will be expected to identify opportunities, build counterparty relationships and drive transactions to close independently. The business is lean by design and the right person will thrive in that environment.

Responsibilities will include:

• Originating, structuring and negotiating long-term PPAs across solar, wind and BESS assets in Australia and New Zealand
• Building and managing relationships with corporate offtakers, retailers, gentailers, trading houses and industrial customers
• Developing and owning the commercial offtake strategy across the development and acquisitions pipeline
• Working closely with development, construction, grid and finance to align offtake timelines with project milestones
• Supporting project bankability and financial close processes with lenders and investors
• Monitoring market dynamics, regulatory developments and competitor activity across the NEM and NZ electricity market

The Person

• Proven track record originating and closing utility-scale PPAs in the Australian market — execution history is essential
• Deep understanding of the NEM, merchant risk, bankability and the regulatory landscape
• Experience with BESS commercialisation and structured offtake products (LTESA, CIS, hybrid structures) highly regarded
• Comfortable operating autonomously in a lean, fast-moving environment
• Existing relationships across the Australian C&I, corporate and utility offtaker landscape
• Strong financial and commercial acumen — able to evaluate deal economics and navigate complex negotiations
