Are you passionate about energy markets and thrive in a fast-paced trading environment? We are seeking an experienced Energy Trader / Energy Trading Analyst to join a dynamic team driving innovation in the Australian energy sector. This is an exciting role for Sydney based Energy Traders or Trading Analysts looking to take the next step in their career.
In this role, you will:
- Execute and optimize trading strategies across the National Electricity Market (NEM).
- Analyse market conditions, price dynamics, and operational factors to inform trading decisions.
- Develop and maintain forecasting and bidding models to support portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage risk and maximize commercial outcomes.
- This is a forward trading role, though will collaborate with a developing spot trading desk.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience in NEM energy trading (essential).
- Strong analytical and modeling skills with proficiency in tools such as Python, SQL, or similar.
- Ability to interpret market trends and regulatory changes.
- Experience with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) is highly regarded.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
