Overview

This is a senior leadership opportunity with a consultancy that has built genuine capability in grid connections and is now looking to take that capability to the next level nationally. Backed by a major ASX-listed infrastructure group, they have the project pipeline, the client relationships, and the ambition to become a recognised name in this space across both the NEM and WEM.

Reporting to the National Manager, this role centres on technical leadership, governance, and market credibility across the business.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Providing technical governance, oversight, and review across the national grid connections portfolio
  • Setting and maintaining the technical standards that the team delivers to
  • Supporting business development activity and playing an active role in winning new work
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, AEMO, NSPs, and OEMs at a senior level
  • Representing the business in technically complex or strategically important connection engagements
  • Mentoring and developing the wider grid connections team, including senior engineers across Perth and Melbourne
  • Contributing to the firm's market profile and reputation as a leader in grid connections consultancy

What We Are Looking For

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications well regarded
  • A career built in power systems and grid connections, with deep expertise across the NEM and ideally the WEM
  • A track record that speaks for itself: clients and counterparts in AEMO and the networks who know your name and value your input
  • Experience across the full connection lifecycle, from pre-connection studies through to post-connection support and dispute resolution
  • Proficiency across PSCAD, PSS/E, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to contribute meaningfully to business development
  • Experience building and leading high-performing technical teams
  • CPEng status; Fellow of Engineers Australia well regarded
