More about this Transactions Associate / Manager - Renewable IPP Role

Transactions Associate / Manager | Renewable Energy | Australia

A high-growth renewable energy platform is looking for a Transactions Associate or Manager to sit at the centre of its deal activity in Australia. Reporting directly to the CFO APAC, this is a dual-mandate role: you will support the origination and execution of M&A transactions while also owning the financial modelling and financing workstreams across the company's Australian project portfolio.

It is a rare brief. Most roles of this type live on one side of the fence. This one gives you genuine exposure across the full capital lifecycle, from early-stage development finance through to transactional execution and investor reporting.

What You Will Be Doing

M&A and Corporate Development

  • Lead financial modelling and valuation work across acquisition and divestiture opportunities
  • Support due diligence processes, including data room management and engagement with advisors
  • Prepare internal and external presentation materials, including investment committee papers and pitch books
  • Coordinate transaction workstreams across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to strategic projects led by the finance function, including investor presentations and capital structure analysis

Project Finance

  • Build and maintain robust financial models across the Australian development and operating portfolio
  • Provide modelling outputs and scenario analysis to support PPA negotiations, RFP responses, and EPC procurement decisions
  • Manage the financing process from development through to financial close, including lender model requirements, advisor coordination, and data room management
  • Liaise with development, construction, and procurement teams to keep models current and management reporting accurate
  • Support post-close compliance, including bank reporting and technical waivers during construction and operations

What You Will Bring

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, corporate finance, or infrastructure advisory
  • Strong financial modelling capability across project finance structures and M&A valuation frameworks
  • Experience in the energy, infrastructure, or utilities sector is preferred
  • Degree in Applied Finance, Economics, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • High attention to detail and comfort working to tight deadlines in a transaction environment
  • Clear communicator, able to present complex analysis to senior stakeholders with confidence
  • Collaborative and proactive, someone who takes ownership rather than waiting to be directed

Why This Role

Australia's energy transition is moving fast, and this business is deploying capital at scale to support it. You will work closely with a senior leadership team that is commercially sophisticated and genuinely invested in developing the people around them. The breadth of this role means you will not be siloed. You will be across deals, models, lender relationships, and strategy simultaneously.
