More about this Investment Banking Associate - Energy & Infrastructure Role

Investment Manager — Renewables IPP

About the opportunity

A well-capitalised, fast-scaling independent power producer is expanding its Australian transactions team. The platform has grown rapidly over the past 18 months, moving through acquisition, project financing and asset commercialisation simultaneously across a diversified pipeline of wind, solar and BESS assets. This is a plug-and-play Manager-level hire for someone who wants genuine ownership from day one, not a ramp-up role.

What you'll do

  • Lead financial modelling and analysis across live transactions, spanning project financing, debt structuring and M&A
  • Support acquisition processes including due diligence, data room management and transaction coordination
  • Own base case models for individual projects, working directly with lenders, advisors and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to board and investment committee materials
  • Work across a genuinely broad transaction mix, greenfield financing, acquisitions and, where relevant, structured divestments, rather than a single repeated deal type

What we're looking for

  • 5-7 years of investment, project finance or M&A experience, gained within an IPP, developer, investment bank, commercial bank or infrastructure fund
  • Demonstrated track record running deal processes end to end, not just supporting them
  • Genuine exposure across both project finance and M&A, rather than sitting purely on one side
  • Comfortable operating as a generalist across deal types rather than a narrow specialism
  • Still hands-on with modelling day to day, whatever your current seniority

Why this role

You'll join a platform in a genuine high-growth phase, with real breadth across acquisition, financing and portfolio work running concurrently, direct exposure to major lenders and advisors, and a mandate to make the role your own rather than fit into a predefined box.
