In this role, you will take ownership of medium to large, high-complexity high-voltage projects, ensuring their successful delivery from contract handover through to customer acceptance and close-out.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global technology leader, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to deliver innovative and sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you will:

  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, including sales-to-execution handover, contract review, project kick-off, execution planning, monitoring, customer acceptance, and formal close-out.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, cost, resources, and deliverables, addressing issues and constraints proactively.
  • Monitor financial performance, including revenue, invoicing, cost, expenses, cash flow, and profitability, while maintaining accurate forecasts and progress reports.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation and contingency plans to improve project outcomes.
  • Handle disciplined contract, variation, and claims management, ensuring customer change requests are documented and approved.
  • Act as the primary customer contact for project-related matters, fostering strong relationships and clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate engineering, supply chain, suppliers, subcontractors, logistics, site activities, and testing requirements.
  • Review and manage project documentation, including drawings, schedules, reports, and technical deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, quality standards, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Capture and share lessons learned, contribute to project reviews, and enhance project execution tools and processes.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and mentor junior project professionals as needed.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive project management experience in the high-voltage electrical industry or a comparable energy, infrastructure, or heavy-industry environment.
  • Proven expertise in managing scope, schedule, cost, resources, suppliers, and subcontractors from handover to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment and substations; experience with Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and transmission/distribution products is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with primary and schematic drawings for high-voltage products, as well as applicable IEC and Australian Standards.
  • Solid commercial and contractual skills, including contract review, risk management, variations, and claims.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across local and international locations.

  • Monitoring project progress and financial performance, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Addressing technical and commercial challenges, resolving issues, and mitigating risks.
  • Reviewing and approving project documentation, including technical drawings and reports.
  • Engaging with customers to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with engineering, supply chain, and site teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Preparing progress reports and maintaining accurate project forecasts.
