Key Responsibilities

You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of systems from construction to commissioning and final handover. Reporting to the leadership team, you will drive alignment with contractual, legislative, and client requirements. Key responsibilities include:

• Shaping and executing completion and commissioning strategies to ensure seamless system handovers.
• Defining, monitoring, and managing system and subsystem completions.
• Leading construction completion, mechanical completion, and pre-commissioning activities.
• Performing walkdowns, inspections, and verifying installation readiness.
• Managing inspection reports, ITRs, completion checklists, and test documentation with precision.
• Overseeing and resolving punch lists, defects, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) efficiently.
• Supporting and supervising commissioning, functional testing, energisation, and start-up activities.
• Upholding the highest standards in HSE, quality, and permit-to-work compliance.
• Preparing and delivering handover documentation while collaborating with stakeholders for seamless acceptance.
• Working closely with construction teams, vendors, and commissioning authorities to achieve key milestones.

What You Bring to the Role

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• A Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Demonstrable expertise in completions and commissioning on large-scale infrastructure, energy, resources, or industrial projects.
• A strong understanding of construction, testing, and controlled handovers.
• Remarkable organizational skills, especially in handling complex project documentation.
• Experience in fast-paced, site-based delivery environments.
• A dedicated focus on safety, quality, and process-driven execution.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in digital completions/commissioning systems like Hexagon Smart Completions or equivalents.
• Proven track record in EPC or Tier-1 contractor environments.
• Experience in managing live commissioning and handover phases.
• Valid Australian working rights (mandatory).

Day-to-Day Contributions

• Partner with engineering, construction, and QA/QC teams to achieve project deliverables.
• Conduct inspections and walkdowns to ensure operational precision and compliance.
• Maintain and manage all project documentation, from ITRs to certification packages.
• Efficiently address and resolve project defects, snags, and variances.
• Support dynamic commissioning and start-up operations with a keen eye on safety and quality.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive handover documentation to ensure smooth transitions to completion.
