Responsibilities
As a Senior Power Systems Engineer, you will:
- Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of power system projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform power system studies, including load flow, fault level, protection coordination, and stability analysis.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver tailored engineering solutions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and documentation for project deliverables.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in power systems engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or ETAP.
- Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
- Chartered Engineer status or eligibility for CPEng accreditation will be highly regarded.
Day-to-Day
Your typical day will involve:
- Conducting detailed power system studies and analyses to support project requirements.
- Leading project meetings and liaising with clients to ensure alignment with their objectives.
- Reviewing and approving technical designs and documentation prepared by the team.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
