Senior Protection Engineer

Overview

Enemix are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior/Lead/Principal Protection Engineer to join our client that operates within the T&D and Renewable sectors. This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of protection systems for electrical substations and transmission-level utility projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in electrical engineering, a strong understanding of utility systems, and a commitment to ensuring the reliability and safety of power transmission infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement protection systems for electrical substations and high-voltage transmission networks.
• Conduct system studies, fault analysis, and relay coordination to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, design engineers, and field technicians, to deliver utility projects on time and within scope.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in the design and operation of protection systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, including protection settings, schematics, and reports.
• Provide technical support and training to internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.
• Stay updated on advancements in protection technologies and integrate innovative solutions into projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in protection engineering, particularly in electrical substations and transmission-level systems.
• Strong knowledge of protection relays, control systems, and fault analysis.
• Familiarity with utility projects and industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, and NERC.
• Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for system modeling and analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
