Enemix are partnering with a leading Australian engineering, construction, and maintenance provider delivering large-scale power and energy projects across the country.
With a strong pipeline of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), wind farms, and critical power infrastructure projects, our client is looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Power Systems Engineer to support delivery across several landmark developments.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on engineering role with direct involvement in large-scale, construction-led projects, offering exposure across the full lifecycle from studies and design through to commissioning and operations.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, construction-ready power system solutions, supporting grid compliance, system performance, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Power System Studies & Analysis
- Perform detailed studies including:
- Load flow and short circuit analysis
- Protection coordination and arc flash assessments
- Voltage and transient stability analysis
- Harmonic and power quality studies
- Earthing and ground grid analysis
- Contingency and reliability assessments
Grid Connection & Compliance
- Support generator, renewable, and BESS grid connection studies
- Assess compliance with:
- AEMO requirements
- National Electricity Rules (NER)
- DNSP/TNSP standards
- Assist in model development and validation for:
- Generators and inverter-based systems
- Transformers and transmission networks
- Protection and reactive plant systems
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ experience in power systems engineering
- Background within an EPC or project delivery environment highly regarded
- Degree in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering
- Membership (or eligibility) with Engineers Australia
- CPEng (or working towards) preferred
- Strong understanding of Australian power systems and utility standards
- Experience with tools such as: DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD / EMTDC, ETAP, SKM, CYMCAP, CDEGS (or similar)
- Advanced analytical and modelling capability
- Strong attention to technical detail
- Effective communication and reporting skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
- Collaborative and proactive approach to stakeholder engagement
- Strong engineering judgement and problem-solving capability
