Responsibilities

As a Principal, you will:

Leadership

• Inspire, coach, and support teams of analysts and energy modelers to achieve their full potential while exemplifying the company’s values.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Project Delivery

• Develop a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and expectations.
• Scope, manage, and deliver multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Oversee complex problem-solving, ensuring rigorous quantitative analysis and clear communication of data insights.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver actionable recommendations that meet client needs.

Business Development

• Build and maintain strong client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor for their strategic needs.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including responding to requests for proposals and proactively developing client relationships.
• Contribute to the growth of the Australian advisory practice by developing new business areas and expanding the client base.

Qualifications

Required Attributes

• Extensive experience in the electricity sector, gained through consultancy, government/regulatory bodies, or industry roles.
• Experience and understanding of NEM market modelling (PLEXOS highly regarded)
• Proven expertise in using data and models to deliver electricity market insights.
• A strong track record of managing and delivering high-quality projects.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire, coach, and develop teams with an empathetic leadership style.
• A passion for using intellectual and analytical skills to drive meaningful change in the energy transition.
• Exceptional project management skills, ensuring client satisfaction and timely delivery.
• A proven ability to win new business through compelling proposals and proactive business development.
