Project Developer – Data Centers is being sought to drive the development and delivery of complex data center projects, from initial concept to construction readiness. This role is ideal for professionals with a mix of technical, strategic, and operational expertise, along with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to sustainability. Responsibilities
- Project Development: Manage and oversee all phases of data center project development, including site selection, feasibility analysis, permitting, and pre-construction activities.
- Site Evaluation: Identify and secure optimal data center locations through strategic market research and site assessments.
- Permitting & Compliance: Ensure zoning, regulatory, and environmental compliance by coordinating with municipal authorities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate relationships with property owners, municipal leaders, contractors, and vendors to ensure alignment and secure strategic partnerships.
- Resource Planning: Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, and legal teams to create detailed project plans and timelines.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks, delays, and challenges, proposing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Sustainability: Embed sustainable and energy-efficient solutions in project designs to meet organizational sustainability objectives.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including permits, agreements, and project plans, and communicate regular updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Real Estate Development, or related fields.
- Proven experience in managing complex infrastructure projects, preferably in data centers, commercial real estate, or related sectors.
- Deep knowledge of site acquisition, permitting processes, and environmental compliance.
- Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with a collaborative mindset for managing diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management tools and software.
- Knowledge of energy systems, renewable energy, and sustainable technologies is a significant advantage.
- Strong background in working with cross-functional teams and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
