I am seeking a Senior Quantitative Trader to join a fast-growing, forward-thinking company at the forefront of energy transition. Responsibilities
As a Senior Quantitative Trader, you will:
- Take full P&L ownership of asset-backed trading for battery energy storage systems.
- Develop and refine trading strategies and optimization algorithms for battery storage.
- Build benchmarks for battery optimization and reporting to ensure operational excellence.
- Operationalize battery optimization within algorithmic trading frameworks.
- Create proprietary price forecasts across markets relevant to battery dispatch and arbitrage.
- Collaborate with AI/ML experts to enhance deep learning models that underpin trading strategies.
- Design and implement algorithmic trading strategies, ranging from mid-term quantitative approaches to high-frequency trading, applied to asset-backed positions.
- Work closely with software and data engineers in a product-owner capacity to deliver robust trading solutions.
- Participate in day-to-day trading operations during day shifts and take on periodic night on-call shifts (with additional compensation).
Qualifications
- A proven track record in proprietary or quantitative trading with P&L ownership and experience with asset-backed trading.
- A strong quantitative or statistical background, with experience building price forecasting models.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for strategy development and model collaboration.
- A strong interest in or experience with applying deep learning/ML to trading strategies.
- Familiarity with energy/power markets and battery storage optimization (preferred but not mandatory).
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to translate trading intuition into actionable model and product requirements.
- Excellent collaboration skills, particularly in cross-functional, agile environments.
Day-to-Day
- Monitoring and managing the performance of battery energy storage systems in real-time markets.
- Developing and testing new trading strategies and optimization frameworks.
- Collaborating with AI/ML specialists and engineers to refine deep learning models and trading algorithms.
- Analyzing market data to continuously improve price forecasts and trading strategies.
- Participating in trading operations during day shifts and being available for periodic night on-call shifts.
- Engaging in cross-functional projects to enhance the company’s trading infrastructure and capabilities.
